ARTIST CALLOUT!
CYD – Developing Inclusive Community Dance Practice in Wales
Deadline: 10th July, 2026 (midday)
Impelo is seeking artists living, working or with a desire to work in Powys to take part in CYD - a professional development and creative residency programme exploring disability-informed inclusive practice within participatory dance.
Hosted through Impelo's established "Y Nyth" artist development offer in Powys, this project is designed to help artists move beyond one-off training to embed inclusive practices through peer learning, research, testing and producing.
We are looking for 8 artists who are curious, reflective and excited to explore how dance and movement can become more accessible, inclusive and responsive to different bodies, experiences and ways of engaging.
Access support and Welsh language provision will be embedded throughout the programme.
We welcome applications in Welsh or English, and in written, audio or video formats.

ARE YOU A DANCER?
We offer a membership for dancers, dance practitioners, and dance artists who currently live or work in Powys. At its core, it’s a way to connect rural artists, open up conversations, share practice, and offer support.
The network is called Y Nyth, meaning “The Nest” in Welsh, it is our dancer membership and our commitment to being a dancer and user-led organisation.

TRUSTEES
While we’re not actively recruiting new board members right now, we’re always open to conversations about how you could contribute to Impelo’s mission. We’re committed to encouraging diverse leadership, and if you feel aligned with our values or believe you could bring valuable skills to the table, we’d love to have an informal chat about the possibility of joining our board.
We’re especially interested in expertise in areas such as HR, safeguarding, building, and education. If any of these resonate with you, and you have the passion and vision to help guide Impelo through the next exciting chapter, we’d love to hear from you.
If holding the role of a Trustee feels like too much of a commitment right now, don’t worry! Given our recent transition into an association model of governance, being part of our community membership could be a great fit for you.
