Even if there are no current vacancies at Impelo, we’re always on the lookout for passionate, like-minded creatives who connect with our values. As we grow into a more dancer- and user-led organisation, there are lots of ways to get involved, from becoming a member or joining our dancer support network, to potentially joining our Board.

Shared Leadership Roles
Deadline: 26th February, 2026
Impelo is entering an exciting new chapter from April 2026. Following a period of reflection and organisational change, we’re reopening our studio space and introducing a new shared leadership and staff structure that reflects our values of care, collaboration and creative exchange.
We’re inviting applications for three interconnected and equally paid roles — Strategic Lead, Producing Lead and Administrative Lead. Together, these roles form a collaborative staff team, balancing artistic vision, programme delivery and organisational sustainability. Leadership at Impelo is distributed rather than hierarchical, with each role holding full responsibility for its domain while working closely with the others.
You may apply for one role or express interest in more than one.
We welcome applications in Welsh or English, and in written, audio or video formats.
Full role descriptions and application details can be found below.

ARE YOU A DANCER?
We offer a membership for dancers, dance practitioners, and dance artists who currently live or work in Powys. At its core, it’s a way to connect rural artists, open up conversations, share practice, and offer support.
The network is called Y Nyth, meaning “The Nest” in Welsh, it is our dancer membership and our commitment to being a dancer and user-led organisation.
If you’re interested in learning more, head over to our Y Nyth page to get in touch.
TRUSTEES
While we’re not actively recruiting new board members right now, we’re always open to conversations about how you could contribute to Impelo’s mission. We’re committed to encouraging diverse leadership, and if you feel aligned with our values or believe you could bring valuable skills to the table, we’d love to have an informal chat about the possibility of joining our board.
We’re especially interested in expertise in areas such as HR, safeguarding, building, and education. If any of these resonate with you, and you have the passion and vision to help guide Impelo through the next exciting chapter, we’d love to hear from you.
If holding the role of a Trustee feels like too much of a commitment right now, don’t worry! Given our recent transition into an association model of governance, being part of our community membership could be a great fit for you. Whether as a trustee or as a member, we’re open to exploring how you can get involved at a level that suits you.
If you’re interested, reach out for a casual, informal chat—no pressure at all. We’re here to answer any questions and help you explore whether this is the right opportunity for you.
