IMPELO DANCE CLASSES

For us, dance is a unique channel for liberating experiences and life-affirming journeys. Where words may struggle, dance can convey the full range of emotions, and help people and groups overcome inhibitions, find themselves, and communicate powerful and inspiring messages.

Our classes run termly in conjunction with school term time and sessions can be found across county in Llandrindod Wells, Builth Wells, Talgarth, Hay on Wye, Brecon, Llanfair Caereinion and Welshpool. We offer an array of classes for all ages, from our Big Fish Little Fish sessions for 8 months - 4 years, right the way through to our over 50’s dance groups, Senior Moment(um). You’ll be a welcomed member of an ever expanding dance community when you join a class with Impelo.

We put creativity at the heart of our sessions and do this in fresh and exciting ways, encouraging confidence, curiosity and ambition. There’s no particular dance style to our sessions but we ensure an overall dance technique is taught in an upbeat and fun environment, with an array of choreography where you get your say on the types of dance you want to explore!

FAQs

Haven’t quite found what you’re looking for, some of our frequently asked questions might do the trick!

+ Can we just drop into a session?

Yes - we offer both a drop in rate and term rate, however in busy classes we can only guarentee spaces for those who have paid for the term.

+ Who qualifies for your concession rate?

We offer concessions to those families on low income, people who are retired and participants with a family member also attending an Impelo class.

+ What style of dance do you teach?

We don't like to stick to a partciular style and we're all about finding creativity in dance. We ensure a basic dance technique is taught and have fun exploring a range of styles and moves with our participants.

+ What should I wear to an Impelo dance session?

We always recommend wearing clothes you are comfy in, many of our children's sessions work in barefeet but it's best to come in trainers or shoes with a flexible sole.

+ Do I stay while my child attends a dance session?

If your child is attending a session for 4 - 7 years then we advise staying in the venue where the class is being held. If the session is for 8 years + then you are not required to stay. We don't tend to have parents/ family members wait in the session space as this can distract the session, however for those starting for the first time we do advise you come with your parent for your first session.

+ Are there any forms to fill out?

Yes - we have an enrolment form which everyone fills out once a year requiring basic information and photo and video permissions. We take safeguarding your personal information seriously and our practitioners are happy to talk to you about how we use and store your information.

+ How much are your sessions?

Our drop in rates are as follows, 30 minute session is £3 or £2.50 concession 45 minute session is £3.50 or £3 concession 1 hour session is £4 or £3.50 concession If you're attending Big Fish Little Fish as a family then it costs £3.50 per family. We offer term rates for each block of classes throughout the year, these vary in length but offer participants 15% off the drop in rate.
